Allendale Electronics is a high-mix, medium-capacity contract manufacturer based in Lockeport, Nova Scotia, building high-reliability circuit boards for customers across Atlantic Canada and beyond, at a fair price and with friendly service.
From marine electronics to circuit board assembly
From sailing ships to circuit boards
Ben Pooley (1934–2025) spent his early life travelling the world, repairing and operating radios aboard sailing ships, a fascination he kept for the rest of his life as a licensed amateur radio operator. He eventually settled in Allendale, Nova Scotia, and in 1973 began installing radios on the local fishing boats. A few years later, that hands-on radio work grew into circuit board assembly, and Allendale Electronics was born.
Ben ran the company for decades, hiring many of its earliest employees himself and mentoring the people who would go on to lead it after him. Outside the shop, he was known around Lockeport for his curiosity and craftsmanship, including building whirligigs for the annual Shelburne Whirligig Festival and local schools. He passed away in 2025.

A product of our own
Contract manufacturing is our core business. Alongside it, Allendale designs and builds the FizzWizz, an automated carbonation system for breweries, under our BrewWizz brand, based in Lockeport. Since 2016, FizzWizz has shipped to breweries on four continents, cutting CO2 waste and product loss during carbonation.
